Agogo suspended for U's clash

JUNIOR Agogo will miss Bristol Rovers' trip Oxford United after being sent off for violent conduct last weekend.

Agogo, 26, was dismissed during the Pirates' 2-1 victory over Peterborough United after kicking out at Posh defender Phil Bolland.

Bristol Rovers have decided not to appeal against the decision after viewing video evidence. The striker will now miss the Gas' next three matches, ruling him out of the games against Oxford, Notts County and Shrewsbury.

Rovers' first team coach Paul Trollope felt it was best not to contest the decision as he believed that the club would have lost an appeal. Trollope explained to bristolrovers.co.uk:

'As a club, having reviewed the footage, we decided not to appeal the decision. If you raise your hands, feet, or anything, you are in trouble.'

'The only grounds you really have for an appeal is if something different happens to what the referee reports, and I don't think that would have been the case with Junior.'

'It was just a moment of ill discipline from Junior, and we will miss him for the next three matches.'
