'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Agree to Disagree?

Adam Chapman, 22 the Oxford United midfield player has now turned down two improved offers, but will stay with the club.

U's Chairman Kelvin Thomas stated on Radio Oxford 'We have made two offers to Adam, both improving his existing agreement, however Adam feels he deserves a better financial package.'

We have agreed to disagree on the issue as we feel strongly that the offer is at a similar level to other players in the club with Adam's experience.'

'Adam has clearly stated in discussions that he remains fully committed to the club and wants the opportunity to earn the level of contract he feels he deserves.'

His contract runs out at the end of this month where he remain on his current terms. If a club comes in an he wishes to move the club would then be able to negotiate a fee for the young player.

surely there has to be some loyalty from the player after the club stood by him during his time in jail. though clearly if he was *****e the club would have probably sacked him, he surely owes the club a large degree of loyalty for sticking with him when he needed backing more than at any time in his career. the least he should do is give the club a full season and take a decision beyond that point
