Martin Allen of Gillingham won the manager of the month award for August.
His team enjoyed two away wins at Wycombe and Dagenham & Redbridge in the league as well as a Capital One cup win over Bristol City. Little seperated Chris Wilder's teams performance as both Oxford United and Gillingham started the season with 100% records.
