Tom Newey 30 5ft 8 is on trial with Oxford United, he primarily plays as a left-back but can also operate as a centre back.

Last season he played 49 matches for then npower league 1 club Scunthorpe United.

He started of as a trainee with Leeds United in 2002 spending loan spells with Cambridge Utd and Darlington. In 2003 he joined Leyton Orient before firstly be loaned to Cambridge in Jan 2005 and then signing for them until the end of June 2005.

In June 2005 he signed for Grimsby Town where he established himself before a loan spell with Rochdale. He spent a season with Bury and two with Rotherham before joining Scunthorpe.

In his first team career he has made 416 appearances scoring 8 goals.
