'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Its been like the Hokey Cokey at Oxford

What a weekend to be associated with Oxford United after a drab match where the U's got over the finishing line by the skin of their teeth things started to warm up long after the final whistle of the match.

Radio Oxford extended their show which went on past 1830hrs. It was roughly 5 minutes past 6 when U's owner Ian Lenagan broke the news that Chris Wilder had departed the managers post. Only a few hours later Chris Wilders agent announced that Chris had not actually rsigned.

Everyone associated with OUFC had to go to bed wondering what was happening at the club. It was more like the Hokey Cokey, had he gone or was he still the manager was the question on peoples minds.

With fans not expecting any further news until resume of business on Monday morning events took a twist on Sunday as the club and Chris Wilder drawing the story to a conclusion.

Earlier today Northampton confirmed that Chris Wilder has been appointed as the Cobblers new manager signing a three and half year deal with the U's recieving a compensation package.

We wish Chris all the best in his new job and look forward to our last match of the season on the 3rd of May with added interest. I just hope both teams with have concluded their league status before that last match.
