Windass new United manager?

Ian Lenagan the U's Chairman has started the process to search for the new manager of Oxford United.

One of the first to apply will be a surprise name to the fans but a known name in Oxford's record signing Dean Windass. Dean was a skillful forward player who arrived from Aberdeen for 475,000 in 1998.

He became an instant hit with the fans playing in 38 matches scoring 18 goals. But after only one season he was sold to Bradford for 970,000. Apart from a caretaker manager position at Bradford however he has very little experience. Although he has applied for vacancies in the past at Grimsby, Shrewsbury, Hartlepool and home town club Hull, but was unsuccesful on each occasion.
