OUFC go through to OSC semi-final

AIDAN Hawtin scored both goals as Oxford United won 2-0 at the ASM stadium, Thame in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup.

On a cold night the pitch looked in a very good state as Thame united and Oxford United clashed for the prize of a semi-final place.

The winger opened the scoring in the 20th minute, burying a low finish after a mazy run from Josh Shama.

However Thame's hopes of a quarter-final upset virtually disappeared four minutes later when Ollie Lynch received a straight red card for a challenge with U's goalkeeper Jonathan Henly which left the keeper impaled on the floor. Luckily Jon was able to carry on after treatment from the U`s physio.

In the second half Callum O'Dowda, who have played for the first team recently, swung in a corner which clattered off the post and Hawtin blasted home from close range.

Thame: Farron, I Pykett (P Pykett 40), Hall, Hercules, Rhodes, Lynch, Conelly, West (Johnston 87), Jesson (Kezierski 73), Cordice, Ricketts.

Unused subs: Cockerill, Johnston, Hurley.

Oxford Utd: Henly, Grant, Long, Lee, Lynn, Hawtin, Davies, Ashby, O'Dowda, Shama, Marsh.

Unused subs: Hill, Calvin, George, Humphreys, Hackett.
