After a last minute goal from Nick Powell has all but dashed United`s playoff hopes. Leaving Chris Wilders men needing in form Crewe to slip up at Aldershot and to beat Port Vale at Vale Park.
The Yellows crumbled in their last Home match of the season a long range free kick from Ryan hall making them uncomfortable from the off.
It will be a Real knife edge afternoon in Staffordshire for Oxfords travelling army of fans not only to they have to beat Mickey Adams men but events at Gresty road need to go their way.
Whatever the outcome there is a huge turnout expected from both home and away fans to pay tribute to what has been an absolutely enthralling season.

The Yellows have the edge in form over their opponents winning 11 and drawing 9 of the 28 clashes between the two sides .The home side are unbeaten in their last 3 against the valiant, and last lost in a 3-0 defeat on the 19th august 2000. The first game between the two sides also resulted in a vale win with the Staffordshire side knocking Oxford out of the FA cup in 1966. It was Peter Leven memorable long range strike that sealed Oxfords 2-1 win at the Kassam in October.

Potted History of Port Vale

After falling into financial disarray this season the Valiant were deducted 10 points early on in the year
Port vale was formed in 1876 and were founder members of the football league division 2 in 1982.
The club moved to their present home vale park in 1950, and reached the FA cup semi finals in 1953-54 losing to West Bromwich Albion.
This is the second managerial stint at vale for Mickey Adams who left in December 2010 for Sheffield United but returned to sign a 3 year contract in may 2011.
The Valiant finished just 2 points ahead of Oxford last season with 65 points.
