Star Player

Sam Long I was a little concerned with Sam making his full debut but the young lad rose to the occasion alongside Jake Wright to curtail any doubts I may have had. Put himself about and grew with each touch.

Wow what a biuld up and match just before kick the fans were told of the announcement that the club had offered a contract to a new manager. Great PR by Ian Lenagan who knew that if the result ended as a bad one for the U's fans it would probably dispell any anger vented by the fans.

It didn't look good going into this match with several key defensive players missing for various reasons the development squad were called on to fill the gaps. Nerves were tense on in the yellow occuppied stands which as the match went on were eased with some sound performances.

A 1-0 win against a strong monkey hangers team (The nickname for Hartlepool) was a welcomed reward for the team and fans. Is promotion back on? Lets hope so.
